ADDICT

Was on a bloghopping journey today and came across a blog about religion, got me thinking as usual guess don't have any other food for thought today other than work I guess. What I find startling and true is how religion instead of evolving with humanity keeps taking a step backwards. Ironically as technology and science grow rapidly religion heads back into a chasm where it cannot be truly understood or analyzed. Being brought up in an extremely diverse landscape with just one lesson about religion being taught at home, which being remember your religion and respect everybody else's religion. Interestingly I have never gotten past this one line that was taught to me, imbibed by me overtime like I am addicted to tolerating everybody's religious believes. I think it’s an addiction everybody needs to inculcate you may be Christian, Muslim, Jew, Hindu Buddhist.... No religion professes hatred, no religion advocates murder, no religion. lets all of us educated masses come together and just vouch to truly understand what our holy books talk about, I think they tell us to lead a certain way of life with a certain discipline thus helping us live healthier and longer lives in peace and harmony. May be we need to upgrade all our religions to reflect our current science. Most prophets were within themselves an amalgamation of doctors, surgeons, engineers, lawyers and true artists to paint such a beautiful picture of life to their followers and great writers to form a legacy carried on for thousands and thousands of centuries. Lets just wake up tomorrow and say "Live and Let Live". Lets all get addicted.

Questions

Hey guys,
I am not one to type an opinion online often, but since we have so many intelligent and analytical people visiting this blog and sharing their views. I have a couple of questions for all of you.
In a population of what 10 billion people (where all other sports are seemingly forgotten) from which we cannot produce a world class team in over 21 yrs, why are all of us following this sport (actually any sport)?
Why are sports and politicians hand in glove? Why is there even the remotest connection between them? Why isn’t the sports authority of India still corruption free?
Is it wrong to expect that all we viewers and tax-payers are paying their frikking salaries and expenses, and we should have a will to fry their dirty asses with their dirty linen?
Is it all about the money, stature, endorsements when it needs to be only about passion? If a cyclist can come back from near death to win the most arduous of physical sports and terrains, seven times. The commitment of more than 10 billion Indians can not collectively win a gold medal. What does that say about us as a country? I know the answer to that one - sore losers.
Have we as citizens ever stopped to look hard and fix this termite like infection to the infrastructure of our day to day lives- to our municipalities-our country- our politics to-our sporting culture?
Are we that ridiculously weak physically, mentally and genetically that we have to look for appreciation from other westernized countries (not just sport but every aspect of our lives)?
Do we deserve better and what have you done to deserve better than this and many such national fiascos?
Have a lot more questions but I promised a couple, sorry couldn’t stop at just a couple.
Regards,
Ashutosh
